3 Players Who Will Be First Time All-Stars Next Season

All-Star Weekend is one of the most exciting events during the NBA season. The main event is the All-Star Game. Each year, we get to see the best players in the NBA face each other for one game.

The most popular players, such as Steph Curry and LeBron James, should be locks to make the All-Star team. Some of the other spots will be filled based on how well players are performing.

The league is filled with young players on the verge of becoming NBA stars. They will have an opportunity to earn their first All-Star nod next season. Here are three players that will be All-Stars for the first time next season.

1. Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson proved to be a skilled combo guard alongside Luka Doncic. When Doncic was injured for parts of the regular season and the beginning of the postseason, Brunson stepped up. Overall, he was very impressive last season and displayed All-Star potential.

Next season, Jalen Brunson will be suiting up for the New York Knicks, where he will have all the opportunity in the world to become an All-Star. He will be the starting point guard for the Knicks. He should be one of the primary options on offense.

The Knicks have struggled for the majority of the 21st century and they have become the laughing stock of the NBA. However, small steps like signing Brunson prove that the Knicks are headed in the right direction. Brunson will be able to put up big numbers for a struggling Knicks team and he should help them get some more wins. That should be enough for him to become an All-Star.

2. Tyler Herro

Tyler Herro won the Sixth Man of the Year Award last season, averaging 20.7 points per game. Herro was a huge boost for the Miami Heat and provided a spark of offense when he came off the bench.

Next season, he has a chance to move into the starting lineup for Miami. That will likely depend on how much he can develop as a defender this offseason. Either way, he will still become a better player.

Herro has been involved in several trade rumors this offseason. Regardless of where he is playing next season, he should have a chance to make huge improvements to his game that would earn him All-Star attention.

3. Anthony Edwards

Entering his third year in the NBA, Anthony Edwards will have more to prove. The Minnesota Timberwolves made several moves this offseason. They are hoping to make a deeper playoff push than last season. In order to do that, they are relying on Anthony Edwards to take a big step next season.

Edwards will not disappoint the Wolves next season, as he will rise to the level of an All-Star. We have already seen Edwards as an explosive scorer in the NBA. He was particularly brilliant in the playoffs, leading the Timberwolves in scoring.

“Ant-Man” will still need to handle defenders on the perimeter, but he should have a little less pressure on defense next season due to the elite rim protection of Minnesota’s recent acquisition, Rudy Gobert. This should allow Edwards to contribute even more on offense.

Anthony Edwards has a lot of potential in the NBA. Along with his other young teammate Karl-Anthony Towns, he should develop more next season and help lead the Timberwolves to a more successful season.
