Alabama Crimson Tide’s basketball program has propelled expectations. The school that leads headlines in College Football has found their dominance this season in College Basketball. Led by coach Nate Oats, the program is currently 2nd in the National rankings with a 25-4 record.
2022-23 Regular Season
The farthest this program has gone in the March Madness tournament is reaching the Elite Eight back in 2004. This has been a huge turn around season that might be the best so far in school history. As of now, Alabama is projected to be a #1 seed for March Madness.
What’s unique about this team is how well-rounded they are. Their bench players come in to do a fantastic job holding opponents down. This team has an all-around squad of players this season that can really give them a bigger leap.
Their current team built with elite freshmen have been doing a fantastic job to close games out. Freshman Forward Brandon Miller has been leading the way in scoring by averaging 19.6 points a night along with 8 rebounds. His smooth playing ability has resulted in shooting 46.2% and 41.7% from the 3.
Along with Miller, his freshman teammate Noah Clowney has been on a roll. Clowney has been a big presence to fight inside the paint and pose a defensive threat. Just shy from averaging a double-double, his help has been instrumental to Bama’s on court success.
The SEC Tournament & March Madness
The SEC teams always come to life when the spotlight is on. The SEC is considered one of the most elite Conferences in all of College Sports. More so, this Basketball season has been kind of surprising.
With teams like Kentucky and Texas A&M on the rise, the SEC tournament is bound to be crazy! Kentucky has cracked back into national Top 25 rankings and Coach Cal’s side should never be counted out!
Alabama last lost to Tennessee on February 15th. This was their only loss to an SEC team this season! They are showing their elite level within their Conference and have been dominating opponents.
Alabama is a less experienced Basketball team and this will test their ability to see if they are legit! The Crimson Tide will still find their way to March Madness.
Even though Alabama has been one of the best teams in the country, the question is can they prove their ability coming up? Alabama might be one of those teams that has a disappointing March and an early exit. I believe this can be due to having less experience on the biggest stage in College Basketball.
