NBA Betting Preview: Milwaukee Bucks vs. Philadelphia 76ers 3/29/22

The Milwaukee Bucks will come into Philadelphia on Tuesday night to face off against another top Eastern Conference foe in the 76ers. Milwaukee and Philadelphia will go into this matchup tied for the #2 seed in the Eastern Conference with both sporting a record of 46-28.

The Bucks and Sixers go into Tuesday night with just eight regular season games to go, so the importance of this one becomes all the more heightened.

Game Preview

The Bucks and Sixers last met on February 17th with Philadelphia eking out a 123-120 victory on the road. Tuesday night will be a rubber match for these two formidable squads as the Bucks took down the Sixers in the teams’ initial regular season meeting back in early November.

Both teams are coming off losses against strong Western Conference opponents last time out as the Sixers fell to the Suns in Phoenix and the Bucks were pummeled by the Grizzlies in Memphis.

Despite their most recent losses, there is no doubt in any basketball fan’s mind that either of these teams could very well claim the title of Eastern Conference Champions in this year’s postseason.

The Bucks are led by the ever powerful forward Giannis Antetokounmpo who has been the consistent force on the court that Milwaukee needs him to be if they want to run it back as NBA Champions. He’s helped on the floor by fellow forward Khris Middleton, center Brook Lopez and guards Jrue Holiday and Grayson Allen

This Bucks offense has unsurprisingly been a well-oiled machine yet again. They are 4th in points per game (114.9), and 3-pointers made per game (14.3) in addition to being top 10 in field goals made per game (41.5). Antetokounmpo himself is 3rd in the NBA in points per game with 29.7.

However, this Sixers team is anything but an easy win as they claim the man in 2nd in points per game with MVP frontrunner Joel Embiid. Embiid has been an absolute force for Philadelphia this season, and hope among the Sixers faithful is at an all-time high right now.

The Sixers’ other big contributor has been mid-season trade acquisition, James Harden. Harden is 2nd in the league in assists per game and 1st in the Eastern Conference at 10.1.

The Sixers as a team have been less impressive as Milwaukee on offense according to the numbers. They are 20th in points per game (108.8), 24th in both field goals made per game (39.1) and 3-pointers made per game (24th) and are 17th in field goal percentage (46.1%).

Despite the numbers, the Sixers sit in the same comfortable position that Milwaukee does; just a game behind the Miami Heat for top seed in the Eastern Conference. They are poised to make a big run in the playoffs and put their 30+ year championship drought to rest.

Predictions/Best Bets

The Bucks will be the road team in this game which hasn’t been a particularly reliable position for them this season as they are 20-16 on the road compared to a 26-12 record at home.

The Sixers have actually struggled from the inverse, however. They are 21-16 at home and 25-12 on the road. With a game of this magnitude, however, it’s going to be huge for Philadelphia to have home court.

The moneyline has the Sixers as slight favorites at -125 against the Bucks’ +105 slate. Take the Sixers in this one. Philadelphia will be playing with the electricity of their entire city behind them and the dual threat of Embiid and Harden will power them to a close victory over Milwaukee.

It was a three point difference last time these two met, so count on it to be a close game again. The spread is -1.5 in favor of Philadelphia, so it’d be smart to parlay that if you’re also betting on the Sixers on the moneyline.

The over/under is 228. The nature of these two high-powered offenses says take the over as scoring is going to come in bunches in this one.

Final score prediction: Sixers 120, Bucks 115
