NBA FINALS CHAMPION FOR 2022

The Golden State Warriors are your new NBA Champion. This is the 7th championship the Warrior’s origination has won and their fourth championship in most recent years. Staring Stephen Curry as he won his first finals MVP.

I was surprised when I found out this was Stephen Curry’s first time receiving NBA finals MVP. Back in 2015 when Steph won his first ring Andre Iguodala was the recipient of the finals MVP.

In 2017 and 2018 Kevin Durant was the recipient of both finals MVP. Making this year was the first time Steph got the award. This was probably a shock to me because it seems as if Steph is always the best basketball player on the court after his performance against the Boston Celtics.

Celtics Downfall

Underwhelming performance for Celtics superstar Jayson Tatum. Tatum poured on 13 points and 7 assists. I know Celtics fans were disappointed by this performance. Jalen Brown has risen his stock this finals series.

Brown put forth a memorable NBA Finals effort, but he and his teammates were still unable to defeat Golden State. Brown was the only Celtic to score more than 20 points on a night when Boston had only five bench points. In 24 playoff games, the 25-year-old averaged 23.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists.

Al Horford averaged 12.0 points per game and assisted greatly. The Celtics are a young team, and this Finals loss should be taken as a learning experience and used to fill their hunger for the upcoming season.

The needs to be some executive decisions made in the off-season, but I believe the Celtics will make it to the finals again soon in the future.

2022 Champs

It must be a good feeling to win another championship for the Warriors organization. It must be an even greater feeling for the four veteran players from the 2015 NBA Finals Championship team who had thought they were a back to the NBA finals.

Andre Iguodala, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, along with Stephen Curry, have made their mark in NBA history. These four players have faced a lot of adversity to get to where they are now. Plagued with injuries and trades many people doubted the warrior’s ability to win another championship.

Some people think the first championship was good luck, and the back-to-back title wins were only because of Kevin Durant. These four players proved the doubters wrong by winning another championship and they all have a reserve in the basketball hall of fame in the future.

Andrew Wiggins has played a huge role in the Warrior’s NBA Finals championship run. Being traded to the Warriors after Kevin Durant’s departure has heavy responsibilities for this team.

Wiggins stepped up to the challenge and won an NBA championship. Averaging 18.4 points and 9 rebounds per game during their finals run.

The Warrior’s team is stacked with a lot of young talents such as Jordan Poole and Gary Payton II. I’m excited for the future of the Warriors and I wonder how many more years they have together if they’ll be able to win another NBA Finals Championship in the future.
