NBA trade rumors and trades came to a halt when we began the NBA season. However, After about 20 games trade conversations begin to emerge again as teams realized they needed to make changes in order to have a successful season.
Big News NBA Trade Rumors
The biggest trade rumor that surfaced is about Bradley Beal leaving the Wizards. The Wizards are currently 5-13 and are second to last in the Eastern Conference. Due to their poor start, people have been speculating that Beal would ask to leave.
Earlier trade rumors reported that the Philidelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets had taken an interest in Beal but these rumors have been shut down by Beal. He says he wants to stay with the Wizards despite the frustration they have caused him this season.
Bradley Beal has shown he is an MVP candidate averaging 34.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists. His team is just unable to help him out and win games even with the Addition of Russell Westbrook.
JaVale McGee is another player atop the trade rumors. The Brooklyn Nets are in need of a big player since they lost their best big man Jarret Allen when they acquired James Harden. Brooklyn has the fifth-worst defensive rating in the league giving up 116.1 points per 100 possessions. They are in need of a quality big man with good rim protection.
The Cavaliers have the ninth-best defensive rating with 108.2 points per 100 possessions with JaVale. He has posted numbers adding to that averaging 8.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks. If the Nets could land this trade it would be a huge addition to the team.
The New Orleans Pelicans have been talking about trading both Lonzo Ball and J.J. Reddick. The Pelicans are at the bottom of the Western Conference with an 8-12 record which is most likely pushing them to make moves in the league.
Lonzo Ball came to the Pelicans as a part of the Anthony Davis trade and averages 10.9 points, 6.4 assists, and 5.9 rebounds. Even though he hasn’t proven much shooting ability with only 30% from beyond the arc, he is only 23 and could be a great future point guard.
The Bulls have been looking for a point guard to pair with Zach LaVine. Ball could fit that role perfectly if he is able to improve his game and confidence on the court.
Sharp Shooting NBA Trade Rumors
36-year-old J.J. Reddick has only shot 33.6 percent from the field and 29.8 percent from beyond the arc. Despite this, he could be a good fit for the 76ers who need a shooter to pair with Ben Simmons and Joel Embid.
Reddick also has ties with the head coach of the 76ers, Doc Rivers. He averaged 15.8 points shotting 44% from the three-point range during his time on the Clippers under head coach Rivers.
The Clippers and Knicks are both potential places for Rose to go. The Knicks would be the best fit for Rose since he and head coach Tom Thibodeau have a history together. They were together on both the Bulls and Timberwolves so expect to see Rose go to the Knicks ahead of the trade deadline.
Kelly Oubre has not clicked with the Warriors in his first 21 games. He is averaging 12 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. Oubre hasn’t brought anything to the Warriors that they don’t already have.
Andrew Wiggins already provides everything Oubre does so what’s the need for him? The Warriors have been in conversation with the Pelicans but we are going to have to wait some time and see if this trade actually comes to fruition.
With a few of these adjustments, teams may be more competitive and more fun to watch. Look for a fair amount of movement in the near future.
