At this point in the season, the newness of the college basketball season has begun to wear off. We have had a change at the top of the leaderboards with Duke beating Gonzaga, however, they turned around and lost to Ohio State, so Purdue is looking to become the next number one in the nation.
With conference games getting underway in some of the major conferences, Saturday has a jam-packed schedule. Let’s take a look at some of the top games to watch.
Memphis vs. Ole Miss
The Memphis Tigers are currently 5-2 and ranked #18 in the nation, while the Ole Miss Rebels are also 5-2. Memphis comes into this game after suffering a three-point loss to Georgia 79-82. Ole Miss comes into this game with a two-game winning streak on the line after taking down Rider University.
One of the main reasons Memphis is ranked so high is the young star they have in Emoni Bates. The 6’9” freshman is averaging 12 points a game while also contributing three rebounds.
The Rebels count on their senior leadership in Jarkel Joiner. He is currently averaging 15 points, three rebounds, and three assists.
