These NBA Rising Stars are Bound to Erupt This Season, and Here is Why?

With the NBA season fast approaching tensions are rising and teams are acquiring. All 30 NBA teams have new signees and traded players all in anticipation of the upcoming season. Certain teams got the best of the free agency and certain teams are ready for what those teams bring their way.

This has to be one of the biggest offseasons with superstars and household names finding themselves in new destinations. With the resigning of slept-on stars, they have to live up to the expectations and pay raises.  

Many of these players have to take on a larger role on their teams this year, with the stakes for the NBA being at an all-time high. This offseason has been one for self-improvement and developing new skill sets.

NBA Rising Stars

Here are the various players on different teams set to make a mark this season:

Denver Nuggets, Center: Bol Bol

With his 3rd Season coming, and an impressive summer league performance, this Skilled 7 footer shows a promising 4th Season. He has just with an outstanding summer league performance

In his 27 minutes a game he averaged 21.7 points, 2.3 blocks a game, and 6.7 rebounds per game. The skilled 7 footer also shot 40 percent from beyond the Arc in the Vegas summer league.

Coach Michael Malone said this about Bol:

“Contested mid-range shots, we want to stay away from those,”

he said.

“If you’re open, let it fly. If you’re not, get the ball, make a play for somebody else. But I’m being overly harsh right now. He was tremendous, but when I look at him from a coaching lens, and I see where he is going to be in a year, two years, three years, he’s only going to get better and better.”

This 21 year old most definitely has the talent and skill to become an All star caliber NBA player, the real issue is if he will get enough playing time to showcase his skill.

Los Angeles Lakers, Shooting guard: Talen Horton-Tucker

Horton-Tucker is set to be one of the NBA’s most efficient role players this upcoming season. With his previous display of promising talent and just resigning for $32 million dollars, he has higher expectations to meet.

This 20-year-old is arguably the Lakers’ most reliable role player, and efficient sixth man. This skilled slasher has the ability to finish in the lane and strongly at that. Weighing in at 234lbs  and standing at 6’4 he is able to finish on much smaller guards efficiently. He is an efficient shot-creator shooting above 50 percent in the arc and can find others on the team with effective looks.

He will be of great assistance to stars like Russel Westbrook and LeBron, to bring in efficiency when needing to take a load off.

San Antonio Spurs, Shooting guard/ Small forward: Keldon Johnson

This Highly anticipated guard of San Antonio is sought out to make the breakthrough season of his career. Recently winning the Olympic Gold with Team USA and while contributing 12.8 points per game and six rebounds, surrounded with All-Stars and the best of the best. 

Johnson could have a chance at being the new face of the franchise with key players like Aldrige, Derozan, and Mills all gone. These players were all top scorers for San Antonio in front of Johnson.

With the odds as they are Keldon Johnson is anticipated to be the leading scorer for the Spurs this season and looking at a Huge contract Extension.
