Top College Basketball Players to Watch Out For

This College Basketball Season

College Basketball is slowly concluding, and we’re about to hit the best part of the year finally! In the lead-up to March Madness, many players have definitely come to life and changed the course of their school’s basketball season.

Here’s a list of some of the best players of this season in no ranking order:

Zach Edey

Edey is an absolute monster! Standing at 7’4, the Junior averages 22.1 points a game, along with 12.7 rebounds. He is leading the nation in rebounds and has shown how dominant a defensive force he can be.

He has immensely helped this Purdue team currently reach 5th in the rankings. All of their losses have been handed by opponents in the Big 10. However, they are still way ahead in their conference compared to their rivals. With Edey’s strong playing ability and this well-rounded Purdue team, they should surely be a team to watch out for in the coming weeks.

Jalen Wilson

The Junior Forward from Kansas is having a great season. Wilson seems to have matured much as a player from his experience of winning last year’s NCAA tournament with the Jayhawks. He is currently averaging 19.9 points a game, along with 8.5 rebounds.

Wilson is an absolute threat as an all-rounder who can shoot the ball, rebound, and play great defense. With Kansas being ranked 3rd in the national rankings, Wilson’s playing ability could help to go the full distance again.

Adana Sanogo

The forward from Mali has definitely been impressive all season long. His dynamic playing ability has pushed this UConn team into a very competitive Big East. The Big East has five teams that are nationally ranked at the moment, with UConn holding the 18th position.

Averaging 16.8 points a game and shooting 58.8% from the field shows how talented this Junior is. His long-range shooting abilities are also a key factor for his success by shooting 38.1% from the 3. It will be interesting to see how Sanogo plays for UConn in the upcoming Big East, which is due to be nothing short of entertaining.

Drew Timme

Timme is one of the most recognized College stars in recent years. His dominating big-man presence has been key to Gonzaga’s success in the last few seasons. In his fourth season, he averages 21.3 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. This has been his best season so far in terms of statistical averages.

Initially contemplating last season whether to enter the NBA draft, this season’s form should give Timme a better opportunity of landing a spot on an NBA roster. Gonzaga is 12th in the national rankings and will definitely be looking to reclaim their success in March Madness.
